Bonnie Barksdale is a writer, reader, teacher and teacher educator. With over 20 years of educational experience, she also holds a PhD in reading education from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Christian University. Dr. Barksdale has worked as a classroom teacher, literacy specialist, literacy interventionist and coach in the public school systems in Texas and Illinois. She currently works with pre-service and in-service teachers on how to teach literacy foundations skills to elementary students in the Nashville area.
